- When several teeth are missing, two or more implants can carry a bridge across the gap
- While the implants heal, a temporary bridge is worn over the top
- That healing takes months, well before the final piece is ready
- Once healed, the final bridge connects to all of them, sometimes with a supporting bar
- A whole jaw with no teeth left can be carried the same way, on more implants

prosthodontist. Planned by a prosthodontist or general dentist together with the surgeon who places the implants.
One question worth asking
How many implants is this design planned on, and what happens if one does not take?
Metal bridge anchor, base metal, on an abutment
D6073. A full metal anchor in a non-precious alloy.
When several teeth are missing, two or more implants can hold a bridge. This includes full-arch fixed bridges for a jaw with no teeth. Codes cover the anchor crowns on each implant, temporary bridges, and the connecting bar.
Two or more implants carry a bridge across a longer gap, and in a jaw with no teeth left, four or more can carry a fixed full-arch bridge. Temporary bridges are worn while the implants heal, and a connecting bar is sometimes made to tie them together. Because each anchor and each false tooth is coded separately, one arch can be a long list of lines. Most plans file this as Major. What they actually pay varies by plan.
